I have yet to see _anything_ much that is _STANDARD_ from one version of
unix to another. Of course my range is limited to Ultrix, AIX, SCO, and
SVR4 stuff. The serial port naming discussion should make that rather
obvious. Hell, not even the behavior of the "bourne shell" was the same
on _ANY_ of the above listed.
