That's a mixed blessing. My tricks/Linux file is about 60% answers to
questions I didn't ask, and includes solutions for a lot of problems I
don't have, because I know that in the future I may get the problem,
or may want to forward the note to someone else with the problem.
By going to a mail answer you increase the number of times the
question is asked.
I'd like to see more effort put into upgrading the FAQ, such that it
gets updated with postings which have a nice clear explanation of
something, and so that answers to questions on older versions migrate
out to the FAQ.old or something.
I wish I could offer to do some of this, but I'm not sure about future
net access.
