I've installed the MCC dist of linux and recompiled almost everything with
-m486 that i had source for .. working on the idea that i might only be
getting 1-5% improvement in performance but if *everything* is giving me
that it'd add up ..
I did try and recompile libc 4.3.3 to use -m486 at some point. heh. i've no
idea if this does anything or not, the compile never got off the ground :)
being able to download precompiled -m486 binaries would be so much nicer...
