Subject: Is Linux safe with DOS 6.0 dblspace

Setup: 486/33, Linux 99pl8 (SLS Distribution), DOS 6.0

Hi, I've looked through the latest copy of the FAQ, but can't find anything
relating to this, except a mention that Linux can't mount double space
partitions. So...

I'm planning on upgrading Linux to 99pl8, however, it's sharing a disk with
DOS 6.0, and the DOS part of the disk has been compressed using Dblspace, is
it still safe for me to use fdisk to prepare partitions before using mk{e2}fs?
There will be two minix, 1 ext2, and the dos partition.

I booted the a1 disk and ran fdisk, upon using `p' to print the current setup,
I'm a little bothered by messages of the form:

Partition 2 has different physical/logical beginnings:
     phys=(49,9,22) logical=(49,5,28)
Partition 2 has different phsyical/logical endings:
     phys=(464,10,17) logical=(464,4,15)

As well as messages telling me that the partition doesn't begin/end on a
cylinder boundary. Should these messages be anything to be worried about, or
can I just go ahead and change the partitions to be on cylinder boundaries as
fdisk expects? No messages are generated for the DOS partition, and also,
messages of this kind weren't generated when I updated a PC which only had DOS
5.0 partitions.
