From: cobust@seagoon.ee.sun.ac.za (Cobus Theunissen) Subject: Missing "find" in Slackware 1.00 Date: 30 Jul 1993 11:04:47 GMT
I downloaded the Slackware 1.00 distribution from the Incoming directory at
192.153.46.2 I installed disks A1 to A13 (with the new version of gzip123 as
instructed in the README files). I did not install the LILO option. After
prompting me to insert a formatted floppy to boot from, the doinstall program
states that it can not find "find" (Tsk, tsk) or "grep"! After rebooting with
the new floppy, "find", "grep", "man" etc. are nowhere to be found! Is this
an error in the Slackware distribution, or is there something nasty in my
setup? BTW, I am using a 486DX33 with ATI VGA Wonder XL24. (Not that it
makes any difference!)
I would appreciate any comments
Bye
