Subject: libc.4.4.1 broke lpr?
Date: 31 Jul 1993 18:51:22 -0400

After installing the new 4.4.1 version of libc from
tsx-11.mit.edu, lpr responds with the following diagnostics:

lpr: connect: no such file or directory
lpr: print jobs queued, but unable to start demon

(probably not the exact wording, but close enough)

I haven't noticed any other problems yet. Anyone have a
clue as to what is going on here?

I read the lpr FAQ without much luck, except for the references
to a new version of lpr that was available sometime last May.
I am running what is probably the old version from SLS 1.02. Is
this version incompatable with the the new libc?

I had previously upgraded to .99pl10 with no problems, so other
than getting the new version of lpr, I don't know what else
to do.

Thanks!
