I have been getting the same kind of errors, and I can guarantee that this is
not a motherboard or RAM failure (I have run tests and tests, and they run
great). I think its a buggy cc1 in gcc2.3.3. I bet dollars to donuts that
you have SLS installed. Upgrade to 2.4.5 on tsx-11.mit.edu or one of the
many Linux FTP sites that mirror it and it should go away. DON'T FORGET to
RELINK (ln -s) cpp in /lib to the correct version in /usr/lib/gcc-lib!!!
