Subject: [Q] Manpage Duplication

This is perhaps more a matter of curiosity than a question...

While backing up my system recently -- nice to finally be able to do that
-- I noticed that some manpages had been duplicated. I toyed with it for
a while and found that if I pull up a manpage on something, and the
manpage is located in /usr/man/man?, then it'll be converted (groff
-mandoc [filename] gives new results) and duplicated, and a new copy will
be placed into the corresponding /usr/man/cat? directory. In the end I
have two copies.

Is this normal???

Thanks!
