Subject: talk(talkd/ntalkd) patch ???
Date: Thu, 29 Jul 1993 12:39:47 GMT

I'm trying to get the latest net-2 software going on my system at home. Here's
the software list:

base SLS 1.02 system
gcc-2.4.5
inc/image/libc-4.4.1
net-2 software.

I can do a number of the localhost things (ala rlogin, telnet, ping, ftp -- all
seem to work). However, talk doesn't seem to want to work properly. When I
run it, I get the screen switching over to split screen mode, then see a msg
about waiting for the party to respond, then finally ---- Alarm clock. I am
then returned back to the shell prompt.

I sent a message to Matt Welsh; he's suggested sending out a message on
the NET channel to find out the patch for this (supposedly does exist).
I'll give that a go later tonight (so far, my attempts
to post to the channels haven't been successful).

I'd appreciate it if anyone who knew about the patch would either email it
to me or point me in the proper direction.

thanks
