Regarding domains, the 'domain' file is elm2.3.* not elm2.4.*
You use the elm.rc file in version 2.4 for that.

Global 'per-user' stuff is in /usr/local/lib/elm/elmrc (no-dot).
You want personal stuff in ~/.elm/elmrc file

Global header-like stuff goes in /usr/local/lib/elm/elm.rc (note '.').

I run here with my binary compiled with a default of
".an.unconfigured.domain" and it sends out proper headers with only
the /usr/local/lib/elm/elm.rc file present.
