I can't speak for an IDE Seagate/Maxtor marriage, but I've currently
got a Seagate ST-296N and a 345 MB Maxtor SCSI drive working and
playing well together. The Seagate ST-02 SCSI controller, however,
only recognized the Seagate drive. Once I switched to the Adaptec
1542C, daisy chaining the two together worked without a hitch.
