less than 4 megs.

for a really minimal X, ftp to tsx-11.mit.edu (or mirror) and get
/pub/linux/packages/TeX/Milieu/XFree86.tz, a 1.4meg archive containing
SVGA server, xterm, fvwm, rxvt and a few xutils together with necessary
fonts, libs, etc. (it also has an alpha Mach8 server which you can rm).
see the included /usr/X386/lib/x11/VideoModes.doc for info on
modifying Xconfig. the Milieu dir has other files you might want..the
files are mainly there to support the METAFONT programming/intro Linux
text i'm writing (see milieu.tz). the packages assume 4.4.1 libc, etc
(contained in rootdisk.z in that dir).
