I bought a tape drive from John Jaskolski, and he did exactly as he
said he would. And when I found that a SCSI cable for it was about
$100 here in New York City, he went out and bought a cable for me and
sent it to me the very next day. The equipment (an Archive VIPER)
works just fine, and John's been a great help. In my opinion, there's
absolutely no reason to distrust him in any way whatsoever. He's a
good guy, and he's for real.

Hello all,
I'm writing just to let people know that while I understand the need to be suspicious, I think that in the case of Dr. Jaskolski the suspicions are unwarranted. I bought a SCSI tape unit from him about a month ago at a ridiculously low price, and I was very pleased with both the value of the purchase and the way he handled everything. The unit came exactly the way he said it would, down to the last accessory, and he was even able to tell me what day it would arrive. The way the unit was packed for shipping was first-rate. I don't know why he goes to all this trouble, because he can't be making any money but he doesn't cut corners. I don't believe he's abusing the net for profit or for a scam, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him again. -- KiYun Roe kiyun@panix.com 657 Jersey Ave., Apt. 2 Jersey City, NJ 07302

I purchased one of these drives, and couldn't be happier. I had a LOT of difficulty finding a standard SCSI CD-ROM drive at any local vendor, and even the mail-order places seemed to have slim pickings. I was about to blow $500 on a slightly-better-performance drive from the same manufacturer. In fact, I had already placed the order, and had to call and cancel. I bought this drive for $290 less, and it performs just fine for my needs. My AHA1542C recognized it right away, and the Adaptec drivers ran it right the first time; no twiddling required. Windows NT likes it too. And I just installed Linux, which saw it right away too (although I have to rebuild the kernel before I can mount an ISO9660 file system).
All I can say is "Thanks, Dr. Jaskolski! You saved me enough to buy a new monitor!" Just in time, too; my monitor is about to give up the ghost!
Just another satisfied buyer.

This is a statement for the record, to whom it may concern.
I have dealt with Dr. John Jaskolski in the recent past. I am personally quite pleased with our dealings. I will continue to watch for his posts, and if he again offers something I'm looking for at a price I can afford, I will not hesitate to deal with him again..! The fact that he has gone through the trouble of getting a merchant's account so he can accept credit cards simply adds convinience all-around.
For those who want details, I bought a Tandberg SCSI tape drive from him. I mailed him a check in the amount of $285.00, which was to be for both the drive and 2 tapes, one with the latest SLS release of Linux on it.
I received e-mail from him the day he received my check.
I received a refund for the tapes (he ran out due to demand) of $35 approximately 3 days later (my check could not have cleared by the time he mailed his). He shipped my drive within a week of getting my check.
The drive arrived in exellent condition and worked exactly as advertised. (It was supposed to be used, but you couldn't tell that from the condition..!)
He offerred to put Linux on one of my own tapes free of charge (which I took him up on).
Dr Jaskolski has not been guilty of any misrepresentation that I am aware of, to include both who he is and the items he has for sale. I have never met him, but am quite satisfied with my dealings with him. I believe that those who choose to sling mud are now shouldered with the burden of proof -- show me something to change my mind, or get off his back..!

First of all, I would like to say that a few weeks ago I purchased SCO ODT from John V. Jaskolski, advertised over the net. I would just like to say that in this experience, i was dealt with honestly and fairly.
