Currently the answer is Gravis UltraSound or ProAudioSpectrum 16. The
SoundBlaster 16 ASP is not supported by the sound driver for Linux and
propably will not be supported soon.
PAS16 is better than GUS if your primary use is recording and playback of
16 bit digitized voice. GUS is significantly better for playing with
electronic music. It supports 16 bit voice output and 8 bit input (16
bit input requires a separate daughterboard which has not been released
yet).
