It's colloquial usage of "OS". It's like saying "The latest version of
the Unix SYSV operating system has the Korn shell". I don't mean
to imply that I want UUCP in the kernel any more than the original poster
meant he wanted the C compiler in the kernel (as opposed to an application)
when he said
