It shouldn't be necessary to change the dip switches by hand. The 154[02]c
is programmable from it's BIOS setup menus. During the boot you should get
a message telling you to hit CTRL-A for setup. If you do this you should
find all the relevant settings are available through the menus. I do this
all the time. I didn't change any of the DIP switches at all when I installed
the board and I've never needed to get at them since.
Note: I got the full kit (including assorted DOS/OS2 drivers I don't actually
need) but I suspect the BIOS is the same even if you only buy the board. It's
worth checking out the boot sequence in case, even if it turns out not to be
there.
