Subject: SCSI and Graphics cards for Linux

I am about to buy a computer and would like to put Linux
with X windows (plus metrolinks Motif).

I am thinking of getting a 486 VL machine.
Which SCSI and Graphics cards would be best and give the least
amount of trouble?

The computer comes with Promise DC-2040 SCSI pro and S3(805)
cards.Would these work with Linux.
