Whew! I thought I was the only one with that problem. The message
from the kernel was just about the same, the only difference was the numbers
in some of the flags. Is there anyone out there who could
provide any clues to this problem (which I posted, hint, hint, in
a message entitled to the effect "Some successes, some failures with lx99p10",
several days ago.) This problem, ARP: non-IP request on eth0!, and not
being able to ping my own machine from my own machine continue to plague
me. As I said before, I am running linux 99p10 with net-2, installed per
NET-2 FAQ on a ca. 1988 compaq 386/20 luggable with an extended-2 filesystem
on /dev/hda1 and an 8 meg swap partition on /dev/hda2. I am using an SMC
Elite 16+ ethernet card, as well. Again, thank yous in advance to anyone with
solutions to these problems.
