Subject: NET-2 problem: eth0: transmit timed out

I finally got lib*.4.4 linked in, 0.99-10 and NET-2 compiled and almost
working, expect for one little problem. When I boot up, I get the following
error messages:

eth0: transmit timed out, TX status 0x0, ISR 0x0
eth0: possible network cable problem?
eth0: resetting the 3c503 board... 0x708=0x80 0x706=0x2 0x705=0x49...done

After three tries, it gives up. I have checked the cable and it is fine (I
can connect to the network just fine under dos)

My configuration is:

386-33 / 8meg
387
3c503 at 0x300 and IRQ 5 using thick cable
2 serial, 1 parallel

It recognizes the 3c503 without problems but can't comunicate. Loopback seems
to work (pinging myself). I included the -DAUI option in the el net config
file. Is this right? What should I check to get this working? Thanks.
