I've seen a computer dealer here in Richardson, Texas that sells
machines loaded with Linux 0.99pl10 (and dos and windows). The
prices are really good. I've seen the machines running very well.
They have the follows:
AMD 386dx-40, 128k cache, 8mb ram, $995
Intel 486dx-33, 256k cache, 8mb ram, vesa local bus, $1395
They all have 170 mb Conner IDE hd, 3 button serial mouse
with a switch, 2400 modem, 1024x768 .28 monitor (Currently
it's a Seiko 1440, very nice for this price. But that may
change). The 386 has the 1mb Trident 8900cl card, and the
486 has the Cirrus Logic vesa local bus card. Both runs
X and dosemu 0.49 fine. The 486 vesa local bus has bus
mastering support. Their number is
(214)907-0871
It seems that they cannot accept credit card yet. I don't
know when they will. The prices on other parts are pretty
inpressive also.
