IMHO- 386BSD is a better bet TODAY for reliability and has a 10 year
tradition/following behind it. Linux I feel, is a better bet if
you are fond of the GNU collection. The Linux C library is basically
a port of the GNU libraries, although the system calls are unique to
Linux. Linux also is making an effort to be POSIX compliant.
I choose Linux over 386BSD for the GNU/POSIX compatibility.
