I think the one simple thing that could cut down the volume of redundant
traffic here is if people with question would monitor this newsgroup for a
few days before posting. That in itself would make the posting often
unnecessary because the same question was probably answered within the last
three days. I don't even know why people bother to install such an evolving
system as Linux if they are not willing or able to take the trouble monitoring
this news group. I am not talking, of course, of people in Romania, or
such, but those who obviously have access to the Usenet, but only read
it to collect responses to their personal questions. So, perhaps the
best way to discourage such redundant questions would be to ignore any
questions that have been answered in the last 3 days. Is this
unreasonable?
