The maximum size of a *single* swap file or partition is 16Mb. You can have
multiple swap files and/or partitions. I've run with two swap partitions and
three swap files totalling around 70Mb and filled the lot with no problems
(other than the obvious thrashing).
The maximum RAM question is something totally different related to the
inability of the old SCSI drivers to buffer DMA transfers above the 16Mb
boundary. Do any of the current drivers still need this?
