Peter, don't get reactive; no one is saying you aren't doing a good
job. Many (most?) of us would be out in the cold were it now for SLS.
However, the version of SLS I grabbed just 2-3 days ago has this
problem. And the fix you put in sysperms.tpz is wrong.
What reads:
if [ -x /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.3.3/cpp ]; then
( cd /usr; ln -sf ../lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.3.3/cpp cpp )
fi
Should read:
if [ -x /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.3.3/cpp ]; then
( cd /lib; ln -sf /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.3.3/cpp cpp )
fi
And then it still doesn't work:
$xmkmf
mv Makefile Makefile.bak
imake -DUseInstalled -I/usr/X386/lib/X11/config
In file included from :3:
/usr/X386/lib/X11/config/Imake.tmpl:6: `#' operator is not followed by a macro argument name
imake: Exit code 33. Stop.

I think that that is what he is trying to say... get the package, try
it out, watch for problems, report them if they haven't already been,
and grab the fix when it comes out.
You have to realize also that some people have a good deal of lag time
when it comes to usenet news... until I moved to my current machine, I
was about 3 days behind (in each direction) the rest of the world. So
if I wanted to respond to a post, my response didn't appear until 6
days after the original post. Some people are on an even longer lag
time.

It remains a remarkable package, despite its few problems. I know of
nowhere else you can get a free, COMPLETE *NIX system that is as easy
to set up and use as SLS. People know.
