Hi everybody!

I have read the FAQ on this question and it didn't work. So here goes.

I am trying to be able to log in to the system via modem on ttyS0.

THis is the tty that kermit will locally connect to.

The FAQ says add this line to /etc/inittab:
ttyS0:vt100:/etc/getty -n 2400 ttyS0

I added this line and rebooted. WHen init fired, it said that the
line is incorrect.

What is the proper way to set this up?

What is the difference between /dev/ttyS0 /dev/ttys0 and /dev/modem?

Any help would be appreciated.
