Peter MacDonald changed the serial ports to /dev/ttyS0 etc. to allow
for pseudo-tty name expansion. You would run out of names when you hit
/dev/ttys?. He mentioned this on the net (early and often).

I am AMAZED at how easy SLS was to install and how well everything works
so far. I was able to get X running with minimal tinkering, and I've
never run X at all (I only saw it running once at a trade show).
