I am having the same problem.

I have heard that the packages contained on the disks have not been
compressed in the usual (sane!) way. They have been zipped with gzip,
apparently.

The packages used to be tar'ed and compressed and had the extension '.taz'.
But now they seem to be tar'ed and gzip'ed, now having the extension '.tpz'.

So until we can get hold of gzip (uncompressed) then we seem to be a bit
stuck.

I have tried using DOS's PKUNZIP to decompress the packages, but with no
positive effect whatsoever.

So my only advice, at the moment, is to find a copy of gzip. Hopefully gzip
wont be compressed by itself (I hate those!).
