From: ijackson@nyx.cs.du.edu (Ian Jackson) Subject: Proposal - daily very very short "read me" posting Date: Thu, 28 Jan 1993 14:06:14 GMT
Anybody who reads this group will know how many inappropriate postings
there are here. I suggest the creation of a very short (strictly
limited to under two newsreader screenfulls, and all the important
attention-grabbing stuff in the first screenfull) posting which would
be posted daily to col but not to cola.
Something along the lines of the thing I've attached below.
Any opinions, responses ?

To get the Frequently Asked Questions with Answers lists:
These (the Linux FAQ, the INFO-SHEET, the META-FAQ sources of
information posting, etc) are posted regularly to comp.os.linux and
c.o.l.announce, and can be found at pit-manager.mit.edu in
/pub/usenet/news.answers/linux-faq and on the Linux archive sites. If
you can't get them there, try mailing "mailserver@nic.funet.fi" or
"ftpmail@decwrl.dec.com". If you can't get the FAQ any other way,
e-mail someone.
