This problem is fixed in gzip 0.8.2, released on Jan 26th.
Please include the string 'gzip' somewhere in the subject for problems
related to this program. I can't follow all the traffic in
comp.os.linux. Also, it is better to report problems to the author of
the program directly than to post. That would avoid a lot of noise in
comp.os.linux for bugs that are already fixed. This advice is not
restricted to gzip.
