Yes, it's been very helpful to many people.

Note the '* Origin' on my end. I'm receiving this via Fido net. Because
Linux
is such a excellent piece of work many, many people who otherwise have
had no
access or introduction to Unix and now are being drawn into this much
larger
'World'! They don't know META-FAQ from Apple-Jacks (a good breakfast
food).
I would think a monthly note welcoming this 'type' of person to this
brave
new world, from one point of origin, noting such things as you pointed
out
in your note in a more welcoming manner would be very much appreciated.
Your
going to find more new people from a much much more diverse experience
entering these areas and wrist slapping will tire you out eventually.
