Since I can't find the original article I am assuming that the problem was
that there were 0 scsi drives detected at Linux boot. This is a problem
I have had and one I have noted at least 3 other posters having as well.

According to the documentation I have read, my scsi card is not supported,
although the ISA version is (UltraStor 14F is, UltraStor Ultra 24F is not).
However, in the code for the ultrastor scsi it is noted that the 24F should
work with minor code tweaking. If someone could direct me to what needs
to be done (or better yet, do it for me :-) to make my card work, I would
greatly appreciate it.

However, I read the above comments as: "If it doesn't work with your
controller, get a different controller." If I need to do this, which
EISA SCSI controller should I ask Gateway to exchange mine for?

My system is the Gateway 2000 4DX2-66E, plus some, which means:
486 DX2-66MHz Anigma EISA, UltraStor Ultra 24F scsi, Seagate ST3600N 524Meg,
16Meg Ram, Diamond SpeedStar 24X (which I probably will return for a
replacement--any suggestions for a no cost trade through Gateway?)

Is this card EISA?

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
