As of 0.99pl2, Linux does not use interrupts when printing to the parallel
port.

However, (and excuse me while I equivocate :-), a new version of the
parallel driver can be found in
tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/ALPHA/lp/lpirq.1.tar.Z
which does use IRQ 7 by default. A simple control program is included
in the tar file which allows the IRQ to be changed, or the old polling
mode to be used, so even if a future version of the kernel includes
this driver, you will still be able to have your soundblaster on IRQ 7
if you execute this program from your /etc/rc.local startup file.
