Hi.
On my continuing problem with X,
Thanks to:
Bruce (jackson@cs,unt.edu) for the hint that I should use et3000 in
Xconfig for the Western Digital VGA controller. It now comes up in mono mode.

Kurt Hockenbury for the mconv.c program that works great (and thanks
to the author).

Now, when i use startx, I get a textured background with a moveable
mouse pointer and NOTHING. no xterm, xdm and not even Ctrl-Alt-Tab or Del.
I can start x with "X", and Ctrl-Alt-Tab works, but of course I need clients.
I have looked thru FAQs, man pages for xinit, X386 and I have tried to verify
that references in the .xinitrc point to actual resources.

The best I can figger out is that a symlink is not there ......

Configuration:
        SLS 99pl1
        386/20sx
        8mb Ram
        WD VGA
        1542b

I would GREATLY APPRECIATE and ADMIRE any kind soul who could help.
