As far as info files go, well, I like them - it's better for distributing the whole manual
than to use ?roff format - can you imagine the gcc info files as a single ?roff file ?

Anyway, to help people out a bit in case they have all these info files and not emacs, I'll
put the stand-alone info reader up at sunsite (there's also xinfo at export.lcs.mit.edu if
you prefer to use X - it compiles no hassles), which came with TeX somewhere along the line.
