Ok. This bit about you having a 486 may be the problem. Can anyone else
using a 486 and the Seagate card let me know if you have a working
combination? ie: let me know if it has failed, or if it hasn't failed for
you.

Do either of you guys have any other SCSI devices attached to your card, or
is it only being used for the SyQuest?
