Subject: [Q] Out of memory Probs with 99p2 -- Wrong Cache detect ???
Date: Sat, 9 Jan 1993 21:51:07 GMT

Hy there,
trying to install SLS-Linux 0.99 I ran in strange problems.
SLS seemed to install right, but at the bootup prompt the memory was detected
wrong. Seemed, that the Linux-kernel sees 256KB Cache, but there are only 64K.

Compiling Linux 0.99 & 0.99p2 gets stuck at compiling tty_io.c and efsck prints
Out of Memory ... Killing ... uhhhh.

Hardware:
-UMC Motherboard with AMD 386-40 DX (4MB)
-AMI 386 Bios #ZB254942
-64KB Cache from 256KB possible (Jumpers are set right to 64KB)
-WD Caviar IDE-HD 170Megs
-ET 4000 SVGA

Any suggestions ???
I have no idea. This is the 3rd Hardware I installed Linux and the first
to create problems.
