Hello !
I have just installed Linux 0.99 (SLS) on my 386/16Mhz machine and every
thing works well. At least as long as I boot from my floppy...
I try to use lilo on my machine to boot from the hard disk but it doesn't
work. I have a 60 MB HD with a 2 partitions : hda1 is for LINUX hda2 for
swap. I have NO MSDOS partition.
What I did is :
lilo -c -i boot.b -b /dev/hda linux=/Image
lilo reported a successfull installation but when I boot from the hard
disk everything goes well : LILO starts, find /Image, the initialization
of the kernel is ok, the partition table is reported ok and then I
have the following message :
....
Partition table ok.
MINIX-fs : unable to read super-block
EXT-fs : unable to read super-block
MSDOS bread failed
isofs_read_super : bread failed, dev 0x343 iso_blknum 16.
Kernel panic : Unable to mount root.
and then silence....
Do you have any idea ?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Laurent
