Help please.

My questions are: (NOTE: these come from reading the FAQ)

1. What is an extended partition? What kind and how big should I make it
for a great, but conservative linux setup? Should I make two partiions
for the swap drive also?

> Mount each of the disks in turn and run the install script on each
> of them.

2. What is the mount command to do this?

> QUESTION: I have the previous Linux version, how can I upgrade it?

3. Can you just get the most recent linux code, compile it, and not have to
get the full SLS release aagain. (ALL the old programs will work?)

> QUESTION: How can I be sure I won't be writing over anything important? I
> have to use DOS on my machine, and I don't want to lose any files.

4. I have no comprehension of what and why this was put in the FAQ?
