There is nothing wrong with this. Many (all) UNIX supplier are doing
this. The graphic part is X. It is freely available. Networking may
be gotten in different place. The same place where Linux took it I guess.

As for stuff from GNU like GCC, they just have to port it (must be real
easy) and send the patch to FSF.

Most of the new feature are simply adapt from what is on the net.
The only thing that always prevent MWC to do it, was the 16bits limitation
of the previous release. Now it's gone.
 
Look at all other UNIX and you will find the same stuff from the
net (elm,gcc,X,less,...)
