Subject: X setup of Linux

I have just recently downloaded Linux v.99 and am having difficulty getting
X windows to run. I have a ATI video card with 512 memory and a Gateway 2000
Monitor that is 1024x768i. I tried the different configurations that were in
/usr/X386/lib/X11/docs/. All I got was a lot of fuzz on the screen. If anyone
has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.
