I haven't looked at Coherent either but from what I have read, the
big benefit of Coherent is the instruction manual and the fact that
many "shrink-wrapped" programs run on Coherent out of the box.

The manual is 1200 pages long and is said to go into "everything".
If a person was to have Unix to run "out of the box" apps, it would
look like Coherent would be a good buy.

Linux has neither a manual or the ability to run shrinkwrapped apps.
If that sort of thing is important- Coherent looks good.
