Yeah, I second this motion ! (and third and fourth it !)
I just posted it for the benefit of those who haven't grabbed it yet
 - I'd certainly recommend any newcomers to use the proc-fs - based one instead
, as it saves LOTS of hassle every time you upgrade your kernel.

Well, you can just mount /proc onto /proc
ie.
mount -t proc /proc /proc
and it works fine
(it also umounts okay, unlike /dev/ram, etc)
