Subject: Advice on organizing linux users locally

Hello,

I have put out a posting locally at my university asking
people who are using linux or interested in doing so to
send me email. I am interested in getting local linux
users together to share info/files/etc, increasing the
'linux awareness' of the community, and maybe
setting up a mirror of the SLS package for FTP.

I am certain this have been done in many other
institutions around the world, so I am asking
for people's advice on what sort of activites
are popular to local linux groups. Any
success/failure stories would help!
