Try holding down a mouse button when strting up X, this may fix the problem
but still leaves the bugs in the system.
Awhile ago, someone posted how to get a 3 button mouse to work by doing this
and t is what I use now. If I forget to hold the mouse button, I get the
same problems you are describing.
I also have an Orchid Fahrenheit 1280, using a serial mouse though, not bus
based.
