Subject: XFree1.2 and 8514/A ?

When using the XFree1.2 from the latest SLS release with an
ATI Ultra Pro, I see a "twinkling" effect along the borders
of windows, menus, etc. The effect does not go away by playing
with the video mode (unless the mode is so bad that frame flicker
swamps out the twinkling), but does go away when relinking X to the
current (old) version of the 8514/A server. Unfortunately, this
version is not too compatible with XFree1.2.

Video with this card was great under the TAMU and previous SLS
distributions.

Is anyone working on 8514/A support for the new XFree/libc ?
