Hi,

I have got linux version SLS 0.99p2 and Xwindows installed. I have been wearing
myself out trying to get my video card to co-exist with my monitor under any
resolution greater than 640x480. I managed at one time to get 800x600 working
by adding in a resolution into Xconfig, but it has stopped working again.

The specifications of the card and monitor follow:

Card: Trident JAX-8212
        1MB memory
        Specific video modes:
                640x480 - clk 25.175 MHz
                          Horiz sync 31.5 KHz
                          Vert sync 60 Hz

                800x600 - clk 36 MHz
                          Horiz sync 35.2 KHz
                          Vert sync 56 Hz

                1024x768 - clk 44.9 MHz
                           Horiz sync 35.5 KHz
                           Vert sync 86 Hz
                (Interlaced)

Monitor: Kenitec PX-14S
         Autosynchronous vertical scan 50-87Hz
         Horizontal scan 31.5 KHz / 35.5 KHz
         Resolution 1024x768 maximum (Interlace)

I think that that is all the information needed. If someone knows where
I can get the relevent information from or knows what values should go
under the video modes in Xconfig then I would be grateful if they could
mail me. I have tried to use video.tutorial in the doc directory to
'manufacture' a suitable resolution but all I get is a garbled mess.

Thanks,
