This means that the FS has detected an inconsistency (probably a FAT
corruption). This error is severe, because other files may have already
been damaged or their clusters may just have been marked as "free" in
the FAT.

The "new" MS-DOS FS (currently in alpha test) simply sets the file system
read-only in these cases instead of panicing.
