--Hi there,
still problems with my microsoft compatible mouse.
I have a mouse (microsoft compatible) on serial com2; I have tried to have it running on my X386mono server linked ad hoc to work with the hercules card.
my Xconfig is
Microsoft "/dev/ttyS1" baud.. 1200
hga2 screenno 0
X starts fine a part from a wierd message at the very beginning (I dump diagnostic with startx -- X386mono >& /tmp/p)
Setting TCP SO_LINGER: Protocol not available no SIOCGIFCONF ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ < ???????????????? whassat ? >
XFree86 Version 1.2 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 5000) Configured drivers: VGA2 (monochrome VGA): et4000, et3000, pvga1, gvga, tvga8900c, tvga9000, tvga8900b, generic HGA2 (monochrome HGA): hga6845 (using VT number 7)
I see a clock, two windows (sloooow because I have 4 megs of RAM and 8 meg of swap)
then I can work on the active window , but the f*&^%ing cursor is stuck in the middle ?
why ? why ? for god sake why ?
ah, one more thing I noticed that there is some bits missing in the SLS which were in the Xfree861.2 : I could not find the configrender.sh so I had to reinstall the Xfree861.2 I grabbed from the same site tsx-11.mit.edu but in /packages/Xfree86 !!
thanx for any help
Paolo
