Subject: Archive Python not detected at boot time

I'm running an Archive Python DAT tape deck with an AHA-1540B SCSI
I/F and Linux 0.99pl4. The Python is not detected at boot time unless
a cartridge is mounted in it. Linux ver 0.98pl1 detected the device
at boot with no cartridge mounted, but of course, 0.98 had no drver for
it. I also applied your latest scsi-misc patches, but Linux still
doesn't find the snake unless it has ingested a cartridge prior to
booting. Other than that, it works just fine -- both with 'tar' and
with the 'mt' commands.
