Subject: [Q] good 386 programming book (protected mode, etc.)
Date: Sat, 27 Feb 1993 03:01:36 GMT

I know that this topic has appeared on comp.os.linux several times, but
I forgot to write down or memorize the answers. Anyway I have been
browsing the local bookstores for a good book on 386 programming and
haven't found anything. I will put in a special order for
"underneath dos" (assuming the bookstore computers can track down the
author) and I might as well also add an assembly language book to the
list.

"underneath dos" was used to write the linux.exe driver used in the
dos emulator. Maybe this book will give me enough info. to fix LINUX.EXE so
that it can run EXE files. Although I make no promises :)

Finally, thanks again to Linus, H.J., Orest, Peter McDonald, and
everyone else that has contributed to Linux. I have been using Linux
as my primary OS at home since April 1992 and am learning alot....

NOTE: if you want to email responses to me - I can post a summary
in a couple of days.
